Bless

Kort verslagske van op Rototom Sunsplash: Right after the main stage performance of King Yellowman, all ways led to the dancehall tent to witness the appearance of the mighty Bass Odyssey sound from Jamaica. Their recent victory in the Jamaican World Clash has proved once again their status as one of the ruling sounds in the world. Firstly Mad Kid (in the picture) from Bologna did a very good job warming up the crowd to pave the way for the champion sound. The massive was eagerly waiting for Selector Mark from B.O. to pull out their lethal dubplate weapons and for the notorious MC Squingy to set the pace for the rest of the night. At 3:00 AM they were ready to start and did so with a big Anthony B accapella intro. After that it was all about big Sizzla and 5th Element (Chuck Fender and Richie Spice) dubs and they never failed to cause an incredible crowd reaction with each and every tune. The dubplate journey went on and when B.O. pulled their infamous Drop-Leaf-selection, the tent went totally mad. They kept a little more on the conscious side with some non-dubplate big tunes, as they were then ready to speed up the pace and get the party going with an entertaining bashment segment. Their Showtime selection was very impressive, as they had strong up-to-date tunes voiced of this big 90's riddim. All foundation heads in the audience were obviously delighted when B.O. served them some all-time classics from Bob Marley, Dennis Brown or Tenor Saw and the party went on a very high level until the sun came up.. Over all this dancehall night was a tremendous success, as Bass Odyssey mashed down the place with an outstanding selection, versatility and an extremely professional presentation. That's how a soundsystem show should be and that's how a world class sound should appear to satisfy its fans. Big up Bass Odyssey

The Original Red Alert Sound regretfully has to inform that the Bass Odyssey performance in Antwerp on Friday, 15 July has been unexpectedly cancelled.
Those who call themselves vzw Red Alert has revised the contract with their manager in a way that Bass Odyssey is now being paid double the original price if they do not perform in Antwerp. Bass Odyssey has agreed to this contract and therefore is not allowed to come to Antwerp.
Original Red Alert is not that desperate to double the fee and play dirty games! We regret this is happening, especially for those who where really looking forward to a great show…
All that’s left to us is to wish Bass Odyssey success in Gent and the reggae massive a great time!!
One Love
