Concerning the violence in the dancehall lyrics. Ok, guntalk is there, because its the hard reality. But do we have to take it that serious? A great song for this discussion: Supercat - Nuff man a dead Yes nice title but....who is the most feared (not in clashes but in real life...)dj in JAM ? Supercat is a real badman even he might not talk 'bout guns in his songs that much.

Come on people, let's evolve ! At the end of your journey what really counts is how "human" you have become. Its not about how good you are at quoting bible verses, alhtough there's inspiration to find. If you don't like certain gays lifestyle, let it be. It's their choice. So what? How can one say that im don't like gays or jews or blacks, when there are millions of them, ina different stylee ? We're together trapped in dis babylon system, no need to find a scapegoat. That keeps us more trapped. Violence and hate will get us at the same f**king place all over again. Mind you, I am all for freedom of speech. But I choose to listen and enjoy UPlifting vibes !

This text is about Shambhala Warriors in specific, but can be seen broader too.
One might wonder: "How can you match 'Warrior' with Rastafarism, meaning peace, love & inity?" It might sound strange, but someone wise can explain: "In the Shambhala tradition we talk about being a warrior. In this case, a warrior is not someone who wages war. A Shambhala warrior is someone who is brave enough not to give into the aggression and contradictions that exist in society. A warrior is a brave person, a genuine person who is able to step out of the cocoon - which is the shyness and aggression in which we wrap ourselves."— Chögyam Trungpa, the Dorje Dradul of Mukpo

Well....I hope y'all don't hate me after this discussion I've heard some wise things here, just wish the rest of the world was like that...then maybe we wouldn't talk 'bout guns afterall. Maybe it's because of my youth that i sometimes react violent at first but i hope you people still believe there is love in my heart. bless

Hey sis. One Love hé! And I think this was one very nice reasoning we had on this board; "each one teach one" said Jacob Miller, wise people who have respect for each other's opinions will gain from that: 1 + 1 = 3, and... live & let live & as long as there is mutual respect we'll grow together towards unity & world peace. (said the old hippie ) Out of many we are one Selam enna fikre Ras Feel

The following statement is directly from Bounty Killer, the Warlord. " <edit> What Sizzla is singing about nowadays - he shouldnât be hiding under a turban like no bitch. He should put on him black suit and dark glasses and come and face me as a warrior, because a that him a deal with. I never heard Bob Marley sing no hatred, nuh gun songs. Sizzla fi low our argument. What him stand for him run lef; a him sing 'Black Woman and Child'â and now him a say **** black woman in her **** and this bag of shooting ting that he's now talking about and rae rae. And him waan come amongst me. Him just dead. Ask him whe him a deal wid. Tru him career get weak him waan try and jump pan people argument and him lose what him stand for, which is exactly why him career weak out. <edit> This is, I must stress, not a bal'head or Rasta ting. Sizzla does not understand or represent Rasta. A Morgan Heritage and Luciano are the ones carrying the light fi Rasta. Fi the love that Rasta is supposed to represent. Sizzla think him can war wid me, but right now a war me a war wid PJ, the Government and the politicians. Me nah war wid no eediot DJ who has no power fi change anything. Warlord out. Personally I'm no big Bounty fan, and the man knows how to behave like a pubescent teenager as well (look at his battle with Beenieman) but what he is saying here is exactly what I was trying to say at the beginning of this discussion.
No arguement from me here...

never occured to any of you that the first reason why people come to a dance is for dancing? dancehall is the jamaican dance music & classic roots isn't really something to dance to, meditation music belongs to your bedroom in order to meditate & dancehall (including rub a dub & dancehall (new) roots as well) belongs to the dancefloor to party on (who really gives a damn about the lyrics after a few spliffs & pintjes? i've never noticed you antwerpmassive -or brusselsmassive, leuvenmassive, whatever- really care, so cut this crappy discussion & if you're chocked by yardie lyrics then you better listen to Celine Dion or Axelle Red ) it seems you've all forgot what's music's first function, don't you?
