a dubplate session will be organized with PRINCE THEO, the 05/05 in Lille (France)
The royal countenance of this young Rastafarian singer
is aptly reflected in his name ..Prince Theo...
Like the Ethiopian princes of ancient realms, he strives for
a life of purpose with consciousness in both himself and his art.
Raised in a Rasta family and anointed by the holy waters
of bath fountain in eastern Jamaica
(which draws visitors from the whole world)
where he gets his powers from,
and are reflected in him physically, spiritually and artistically.
Cultural lyrics and a fresh positivness are the signs of his music.
His talent is a natural gift and this becomes clear
when Prince Theo humbly explains his abilities ..
Music adopted me spiritually as I was ordained by the
vibrations of the Almighty .. it..s a natural mysticism...
His early recordings ..Jailhouse.. on the Linx Label,
..Gi mi di Weed.. on King Jammys,..Jah Rules.. and ..Natty on ya..
on Trinity records earned him rave reviews and significant
exposure on the international music scene.
But since Reggae..s heavyweight band Morgan Heritage
started to enlisten Prince Theo for Volumes 1, 2 and 3 of their
..Family and Friends.. compilations he became known worldwide.
On two of their other compilations (Gunz in the Ghetto & Shashamane)
Prince Theo is present with beautiful songs and shines
among the great ones. One of the artist..s recent works
is called ..Eastman Project.. together with Brethrens of St.Thomas,
he sings on ..Three wise men.. already released
on the Morgan Heritage label as well. In December 2003
Theo took part in the ..Irie FM Big Freak Talent Contest..
to prove his skills, and out of 557 contestants he took home 2nd place.
Live, Prince Theo performed on various stages in Jamaica, as well
as America and Europe. Just to name a few:
Satta Massa Gana, Rebel Salute, East Fest, Portland Bash (JA),
1999 and 2001 tours in Switzerland and 2002 in Canada.
The artist..s vast potential is highlighted in
the latest of his recordings for Trinity,
his 2004 released debut album, ..Set the Captives Free...
His smooth baritone voice expresses a variety of emotions;
rebel soulfulness, joyful crooning and mesmerizing chanting.
It would be remiss not to mention the innovative and advanced
productions added to the inspired vocals give this album
the highest level of musical satisfaction.
..I will always give thanks to the father for his blessings ..
both musically and spiritually.... Prince Theo
