Each year when I put the “Death Before Dishonor” line-up together, I try to feature an upcoming sound system that has the potential to break through the industry. This year, quite a few sounds came to mind. However, only one of these rookies truly deserved the shot.
That sound is Black Reaction out of Canada. Black Reaction is the number one contender in the Irish and Chin “World Clash” series right now! In July 2006, Black Reaction won World Clash Canada. And in October 2006, Black Reaction came very close to earning a second World Clash title at World Clash 2006 in Brooklyn. So far, Black Reaction is the best sound to hail from Canada’s clash arena. Nevertheless, Black Reaction has still not received proper recognition from international sound clash fans.
The fact that Black Reaction is the current holder of a “World Clash” title secures their right to a vehicle of strengthening their career. Hence, it’s my responsibility as a sound clash promoter to assist Black Reaction in their quest for fame.
Those of you who think that Black Reaction doesn’t deserve a shot are simply being biased. Those of you who believe that Black Reaction will drop out first may be right, but this does not mean that they should be denied an opportunity, which they earned.
If Black Reaction fails to prove them selves at “Death Before Dishonor 7,” so what! There will be other clashes. However, I have a feeling that Black Reaction could again surprise a lot of people.
