Allesinds hier een bericht over zijn gezondheidstoestand dat via zijn myspace werd rondgestuurd:

Thank you to everyone who has sent out their prayers for Alton
He is now doing well and is on the road to recovery and doesn't look any different to when he is on stage just that he has lost weight !
but otherwise he is doing ok and is undergoing his chemotherapy

Ik hoop dat hij idd snel weer beter mag worden zodat we hem in de toekomst terug op het podium kunnen vinden, sterkte!

Alton Ellis, the man acclaimed as 'The Godfather of Rocksteady', has, for several weeks now, been in hospital in London undergoing treatment for cancer of the lymph glands and is scheduled to start chemotherapy soon.

Alors que nous l'avions laissé à 63 ans atteint d'un cancer, Alton Ellis, le pape du rocksteady vient de nous annoncer que sa chimiothérapie a bien marché et qu'il a repris la route de studios pour poser quelques morceaux en Jamaïque. Une bien bonne nouvelle en perspective !
