The recent legal battle between Upliftment Music International (UMI) and singer, Terry Linen, has now been resolved and they are now a united team working to deliver some excellent productions during the course of the year, a UMI release states.
The outfit is working closely with their two main artistes, Terry Linen and Bescenta, as management and booking agent to ensure that both artistes stay on top of their game.
"We have arrived at an amicable settlement, putting differences aside to produce classic reggae music," the CEO, who goes by the moniker Africa, states in the release.
He added, "Everything is fine with Terry Linen and UMI, all has been resolved. We are now working on Terry's new album, he has been getting crazy bookings and we have several projects in the pipeline for both him and Bescenta."
Terry is himself looking forward to doing great work with UMI and fulfilling his contractual agreement. The artiste said, "Upliftment Music helped to build my career so I can't be ungrateful to them. I am looking forward to good works and it's just the music we are focusing on."
Terry, who has been signed to Upliftment Music International since November 2007, has a three-album deal with the company. The first album, A Better Man, will hit the streets the end of this month, and will be distributed by Tads Records. Already, UMI and Terry are working on the second album.
As Africa said, "Sorry about the delay for the Terry Linen album, but believe me, it is definitely worth the wait! It's loaded with some Terry Linen favourites as well as some brand new material."
Terry has a busy calendar, with the singer booked for events in Orlando, Florida on April 11; New York from April 17-18; Canada from May 14-17; and a European tour in July.
After taking a brief hiatus from the music biz in 2006, returning a year later under the UMI umbrella, Terry made a massive comeback with the number one single Mood For Love, No Time To Linger, Lovely Day and Better Man.
As for Bescenta, the singer's career has been moving in a positive direction, thanks to the strong backing of Africa and the UMI team. With singles like the number one Calm Down Yuh Nerves, Our Love is Genuine, Alright, Hungry Love and Hold A Joy, Bescenta has not only been getting massive airplay but he has been dominating the stage show circuit, delivering show-stopping performances.
Along with several new releases, Bescenta's album Calm Down Yuh Nerves is due out in a few months.
Bescenta couldn't be happier with the direction of his career. "Ever since Upliftment take up my career, I can see results. The respect is there, people love the type of music I'm delivering and the fans are hungry for it. It has been a good year so far and I expect it to get even better," he said.
